What brought you to Toni's music? Tell us your story...

For me, it began with my sister and friends. I've always loved to sing, so any big ballad was my favorite that I could belt out.
My sister found Un-break My Heart and burned it on a cd, after I first heard it with her in the car, I fell in love.
Everyday from then on My sister and i and our friends would jam out to unbreak my heart riding down the road.
Eventually I found out who sang the song (Toni) and looked up more of her songs. Stumbling onto Spanish Guitar which is my abosolute favorite. I instantly fell in love with Toni and her music.

A year or so later my sister passed away, looking back I treasure the memories I had with her in the car singing Unbreak my heart and many other Toni songs we sang. If it wasnt for my sister I would have never knew of Toni.

I was so glad she was listening this kind of music becouse i knew she is in love with me too, if she listening this.
'' LET'S listen together'' ! She put one hedphone to her ear we took a seat on stairs in a corridor of prefab, the light was off and we were sitting there together and just listening whole cassette.

i remember wen i first saw her video of Breathe Again maybe im 10 or 11..the video is just sexy,,not a common theme at that time.. i thought oh this lady has that IT factor, shes has the edge...her music is something else...i thought for sure this lady will be in the same league as whitney, mariah someday...she will release hit after hit singles and albums...and from that moment on i started to watch her as her career blossoms, i told myself "see toni will going to have more massive success w/ her sophomore album, it happened"...unlike what happened to alot of other artists whose second CD just became jinx..flop...There is something irresistable bout her, and her music, i found her very unique that time (still now), she's more modern R&B and soul than mariah, whitney etc. that time, toni is one of the front runners of modern R&B & soul music that time which i found so unique,,,and her incredible voice..i really fell in love...so unique..smooth yet strong...and SEXY....then after a couple of years seeing her i see to it that i will watch awards nights because of her, getting excited of what she will sing, WEAR, will LOOK like etc etc...she is just so fascinating...addictive...............she defined the term "SEXY DIVA" ...she adds Sensuality to music which is now being followed by many R&B starlets today..Toni is the Original Sexy Diva...

I begin to admire Toni Braxton's music a few months before her debut album was released. I was teenager watching BET "ALL THE TIME" and LOVED "Love Shoulda Brought You Home" . So when the debut album came out I bought the cassette and the rest is history. Everyone Loved her Debut and it brings good memories of being as a teenager and 1993! Little did I know one day I would sing " Another Sad love Song" with her on Stage in Kansas City , MO!!!!!!! She's an amazing singer.

I fell in love with Toni when I heard/ and watched the Seven Whoel Days video. She was beautiful, sexy and the song was from the persective of a strong woman. Someone that we would want our, sister, mother, niece, wife to be like. Then came your making me high, she transformed herself, she became even sexier, she trimmed her body and leaned out, nipped of a litle of her nose, became more confident on stage and the secrets album showcased her voice even more, then came the HEAT, she got even more sexy and fun and beautiful, and wefinally got to see her move a little bit and i am forever a TONI FAN

My mommy! :) But I do remember hearing Toni on the radio and her voice always stood out to me. Who was this woman? Then I saw her and was fascinated, not to mention my family would have discussions on her sexuality lol. Always thought she and Halle were the same person until I was in my teens. But have been fascinated with Toni since I was 7 :D

True story, I actually got into a fight because somebody called Toni a lesbian and I punched them in their face. But I was in the 4th grade so all is forgiven lol.

Ok so this is how my story goes....

I was 6 years old living in Hawaii and I always came back east to NYC & Connecticut where my mom's side of the family lived at the time and still does. So whenever I would come out to Connecticut particularly (WHERE I CURRENTLY RESIDE) I would go over to my best friends house. Her mom always had the good "Old Skool Jamz" of the late 80's and early 90's playing and so one day I heard "Another Sad Love Song" playing in her mother's car when she pulled up in her driveway coming in from work & I was hooked immediately even at tender age 6! LOL Something about Toni's voice/tone captured my young soul, I can't really explain LOL but I had never heard anything like it before which was probably because I was only on Earth for 6 short years at time LOL & still to this day, her voice captures me as it did in 93' and now I understand that even if I had been on Earth for 83 years that I wasn't ever going to hear anyone else sounding like Toni Braxton....

I mean her sound just was so unique back then playing on the radio which obviously has made Toni the superstar that she is and always will be!

So anywho, LOL I remember asking her mom about the song she had been playing in the car and she told be it was called "Another Sad Love Song" by a new female singer named Toni Braxton.....

So my friend and I loved Toni from that point on!!!!! Even at the ages of 5 (WHICH SHE WAS AT THAT TIME) and 6 that summer when we we're together we'd always turn on the popular music channels at that time and wait for the video to come on!!!!!!

I still get chills when I hear "Another Sad Love Song" on the radio or catch it playing on like some music video channel but I mean any song that Toni has recorded and made a video for gets me super super excited to the point where I have to drop whatever it is I'm doing to listen or watch!!!!! ~*!Smile!*~

When I finally flew back home to Hawaii at the end of that summer, I was officially a "Toni Braxton Fanatic" LOL and I never stopped listening to her music or looking out for her new videos!!!!!

Every Christmas since I came to know about Toni, I ALWAYS asked for something related to her like an album, a single, a record, a T-Shirt just anything that bared Toni Braxton's name period!!!!!

When I lived in Hawaii, she was extremely extremely extremelyyyyyyyyy popular there back when her first LP came out......

Everone that fall (1993) was playing her music in the clubs, at home, at school even at some church party events. I remember when "Breathe Again" came out I had turned 7 and it was the first karaoke song that I ever sung! I remember my friend and I were in 3rd grade and we sang "Breathe Again" at a school BINGO family night kind of thing! LOL

My parents loved Toni's music when I was growing up and still do to this day and I'm about to be 22 in September!!!!!

They have all of her albums and they always made sure I had my own damnnnnn copies as well when I was to young to go to a store by myself and purchase them or else I would throw a fit let meeeeee tellllll youuuuuuu okkkkkkkk I wasn't trying to feel like I didn't own a part of some Toni Braxton merchandise hunnnnnyyyyy it just wasn't happening! ::: *GiGgLeS* :::
